Man, I’m sick of all this garbage No-one has good things to say. It never really leads to something I’d rather just get out of the way. Life can be so trivial I know it sometimes stings. I’m gonna spend my time right now On more important things. You might ask me how I’m doing But I doubt you really care. It’s fun to watch your eyes glaze over ‘Cause then I know you’re not even there. I can be so cynical I’ll try to clip my wings. I’m gonna spend my time right now On more important things. Another day, another story Clutterin’ up my inventory With things I don’t know and don’t wanna hear. But until they do, I wish they’d disappear. People are so critical I’ll let them take their swings I’m gonna spend my time right now On more important-- Life can be so trivial I know it sometimes stings I’m gonna spend my time right now On more important things.

Coffee shop in Soho, I’ve got a corner in my eye Talking like a schoolgirl And I’m feeling like a catcher in a lie. I don’t think you meant it Told me that you thought it’s for the best, Then why’d you have to go and do The Macarena on my chest? Well, you can do what you wanna do And you can see what you wanna see I don’t care what you’re saying right now It wasn’t just me. You joked about tomorrow I saw you meant it in your eyes. You went back to think of me I guess that you wanted to cry. I know you don’t believe me I doubt that I’ll ever be the same ‘Cause when I think about it Well, it really only smells like pain. Well, you can do what you wanna do, And you can see what you wanna see. I don’t care what you’re saying right now It wasn’t just me. Well, it’s true that I’ve known you forever And now you seem like somebody else, But vodka and Fanta will come back to haunt you, And I guess that’s what I’m telling myself. Well, you can do what you wanna do And you can see what you wanna see I don’t care what you’re saying right now It wasn’t-- You can do what you gotta do And you can be what you wanna be I don’t care what you’re going through now It wasn’t just me.

Yes World 04:24
Who do you think you are, A little superstar? That gets about as far as your stories. It’s all now caving in, While you think it’s such a sin, They’re no longer buying in to your glories. Hey, just keep holding on, with those blinders on And rose colored eyes in your yes world. And don’t hesitate ‘cause it’s never too late For leaving your lie in your yes world. I wonder can you see the real disparity Of what you say and actually is the story. With each passing phrase you script another page Setting up the final stage for your falling. Hey, just keep holding on, with those blinders on And rose colored eyes in your yes world. And don’t hesitate ‘cause it’s never too late For leaving your lies in your yes world. The yes men who remain, they know you’ve put them on And stick around for now but not for very long. The more you deviate, the more they’ll dissipate And leave you there holding your own. Hey, just keep holding on, with those blinders on And rose colored eyes in your yes world. And don’t hesitate ‘cause it’s never too late For leaving your lies in your yes world. Just keep holding on, with those blinders on And rose colored eyes in your yes world And don’t hesitate ‘cause it’s never too late For getting your life in your next world.

Coronation 03:51
And while you were waiting for you coronation Everybody else was moving on. You can tell me that you stayed out all night if you want to When I know your only hope is the dawn. It makes me laugh to think you're down Because you never got your crown Stuffed inside your P.O. Box. You'd rather sit in bed alone And sing into your micro-throne Expecting that your public knocks. And while you were waiting for your coronation Everybody else was moving on. You can tell me that you stayed out all night if you want to When I know your only hope is the dawn. The saddest part is that you think you've been anointed Because you've got a few friends that seize upon your every word. You walk around and make believe that you're King Arthur When it seems to me that you're more like Richard the Third. You won't be satisfied unless You're a successor, not just a success, And I'm not sure that you're all there. And when I ask the reason why, I only get a curt reply, And you just say we'll lose our heir. And while you were waiting for your coronation Everybody else was moving on. You can tell me that you stayed out all night if you want to When I know your only hope is the dawn. I know your only hope is the dawn.

Get In Line 04:07
Don’t take your brimstone and jitney life so seriously. I got a thing or two to tell you, you might not want to believe. So take a minute my friend and pull yourself away from your mirror If you please. Make no mistake, we’re all the same and nothing more. There’s no escaping what we all will have in store, And all I want to do is see your face the night You realize what we share as one. So get in line with the rest of us ‘Cause when it’s lights out you’re gone my friend. We’re all the same in the end. Don’t kid yourself that it’s gonna be any different for you. You get away with a lot I know when you’re one of the chosen few. The universal equalizer is sitting right over there, He’s waiting for me and for you. Make no mistake we’re all the same and nothing more. There’s no escaping what we all will have in store. And all I want to do is see your face the night You realize what we share as one. So get in line with the rest of us ‘Cause when it’s lights out you’re gone my friend. We’re all the same in the end. But you never listen to single word I’m saying. Yeah, that’s such a shame with all that time we’re wasting, We’re all wasting away. Make no mistake we’re all the same and nothing more. There’s no escaping what we all will have in store. And all I want to do is see your face the night You realize what we share as one. So get in line with the rest of us. ‘Cause when it’s lights out you’re gone my friend. We’re all the same in the very end. So get in line. So get in line.

Funk #50 02:43
It’s funny how your life can change In just one day. I don’t believe in a coincidence anyway. I used to wonder why, But now I never even try. I walked into another life I never knew. And now I’m standing in the light I can’t get through. I used to wonder why, But now I never even try. Shaving off my sideburns Going back to work Trying to pretend that I’m not going berserk. I used to wonder why But now I never even try. It’s funny how your life can change In just one day.

Pearly Gates 03:01
Well, you go to church every Sunday, And forget what you heard by Monday. God is just a word for you To tell other people what to do, But you never even eat off your own plate And you'll be waiting at the Pearly Gates. You say it doesn't matter what your deeds are As long as you are a believer. So make your speech and soothe your soul Pretend that it can make you whole But there's no way believing's all it takes And you'll be waiting at the Pearly Gates. Heaven's not a country club, Some can join and some are snubbed Depending on the church where you have been. It's all just within your mind And there's no gate to hide behind To keep all the people out you don't want in. Well, you tell me, that unless I do it your way That I will be stranded at the doorway. But it can't make much sense to say That there can only be one way. A billion people left to just one fate? They won't be waiting at the Pearly Gates. They won't be waiting at the Pearly Gates, And you'll be waiting at the Pearly Gates.

Sheepwalking 04:13
Look at all the happy people living in denial. Each one thinking that they’re living out of rank and file. Something made them different after all, But when the icons sound they heed the call. Everywhere that I go, It seems that they’re all the same. Sheep walking, in their sleep they’re talking. I can’t hear a word they’re saying. Hey, they’ve got to know their singularity is frayed. Sheep walking, in their sleep they’re talking. What makes me think I am not the same? Mirrored images of them, oh, how they multiply, TV’s beamed into their heads, a life that’s just a lie. They think they’re discerning of it all, But lead them to the edge they’re bound to fall. Everywhere that I go It seems that they’re all the same. Sheep walking, in their sleep they’re talking I can’t hear a word they’re saying Hey, they’ve got to know their singularity is frayed Sheep walking, in their sleep they’re talking What makes me think I am not the-- They don’t know where they’re going. They don’t know what they’re doing. I know you’re asking who am I to keep putting them down Then take the time to come and find me hiding in the underground Hey, they’ve got to know their singularity is frayed Sheep walking, in their sleep they’re talking I can’t hear a word they’re saying. Hey, they’ve got to know and tire of playing the game Sheep walking in their sleep they’re talking What makes me think I am not the What makes me think I am not the How do I know I am not the same?

I don't know what you’re doing, But I never felt like this before. I don't know what you're feeling, But I never felt so insecure. And when I look into your eyes, It doesn't come as a surprise, That I loved you more than you could know, And I found somehow that I Don't understand your meaning. I never hear a word you said. But I can't start to tell you, That I want someone else instead. And when I look into your eyes, It doesn't come as a surprise That I loved you more than you could know, And I found somehow that I

Robin’s problem is she cannot see with 20/20 vision, Attention span like MTV without a television. She’ll look sincerely in your eye, Confesses with a little lie, Then disappears without goodbye. Please won’t you tell me what is on her mind? Robin’s problem is what she cannot hide with a little indecision, A 2-D girl in a 3-D world on a monetary mission. A women’s libertarian, a part-time vegetarian, Knows how to please with the best of them. Oh, won’t you tell me what’s more scary than She’s the most amazing girl from a masochistic point of view. She’ll lock you in a set of cuffs And play with you a little rough While taking you for a few. So take advice from me my friend She’ll keep you guessing till the end, An unextended hand to lend On this I’m sure you really can depend. Robin’s problem is she cannot see with 20/20 vision.

C’mon girl, c’mon over to my side Yeah, c’mon baby, c’mon over to my side Yeah, you’re the kind of girl Who’s always fooling ‘round, Just the way the others do, But you put them down. C’mon girl, c’mon over to my side C’mon baby, c’mon over to my side But you’re the kind of girl Who’s like everybody else. You’ll say you’ll change the way things are, But you put that on the shelf. So, c’mon girl, c’mon over to my side C’mon baby, c’mon over to my side You say that you are not to blame Because you’re so very young, But you keep on playing these foolish games And just say you’re having fun. Day by day, you’re older now, Just leave that all behind. You say you’ll change the way things are Why isn’t now the time? So, c’mon girl, c’mon over to my side C’mon baby, c’mon over to my side

Sunflowers 04:00
And as I pass the fields of yellow, I try to be a happy fellow. I can’t explain the way I feel. I want to see the good and never see the real. I wanna be sunflowers (there goes the sun) Face the light for hours and hours. No more dark side (there goes the sun) Shine in my eyes until I get bleary eyed. When I get up I hope the sun will I’m living in the Holland Tunnel I try to make the most of it. This town is like a toaster, And I’m the toast of it. I wanna see sunflowers (there goes the sun) Chase the light for hours and hours. No more dark side (there goes the sun) Shine in my eyes until I get bleary eyed. I guess there has to be Morning, noon and night, Couldn’t tell the difference if you Only saw the light. I can’t explain the way I feel. I want to see the good and never see the real. I wanna be sunflowers (there goes the sun) Face the light for hours and hours No more dark side (there goes the sun) Shine in my eyes until I get bleary eyed. I wanna be sunflowers Face the light for hours and hours. No more dark side (there goes the sun) Shine in my eyes until I get bleary eyed.

Déjame, don't play with me I'm broken, I'll just say, that this time I'm not joking You had your chances every day, But then you let them slip away. Déjame, I thought you weren't faking yesterday, I guess I was mistaken. But after all is said and done, There's nothing left to call our love. There's nothing you can do or say to me Because my side is where you'll never be, you'll never be Déjame, it makes no sense, The more you look away, The road is waiting for you The time is gone for you to stay, So I'll just tell you dejame. There's nothing you can do or say to me Because my side is where you'll never be, you'll never be Déjame, it makes no sense, The more you look away, The road is waiting for you The time is gone for you to stay, So I'll just tell you dejame. You had your chances every day, And then you let them slip away.

about

The long awaited second CD. Mitch Easter produced this one, and boy does that young man know his way around a recording studio! Great sounds, great ideas, just an all-around great guy. His patent-pending magic fingers are featured on "Yes World", with a "fuzz" bass solo worthy of Jack Bruce, and in some kinda "Durango" bass thing in "Comes As No Surprise."
"New " drummer (only 4 years in Mocker Corp.) Jon Niefeld, late of The Rembrandts and Bug, two Minneapolis pop bands you might have heard of, found time to not only be our timekeeper on this one, but he also does some amazing backing vocal arranging and singing. Dean Howell, in our humble opinion one of the best guitarists not just in the pop scene, but in any scene, plays his usual brilliant lead guitar as on our first album, but this time takes it up another notch. From the Glen Campbell-esque country pop of "Sheepwalking" to the ultra-melodic Brian May style runs in "Funk #50, Dean does it all.
